Vineyards in Autumn

According to the local winemakers the colour variety of the wine leaves this year is one of the most beautiful ones in recent years. This is due to the relatively dry after season and the fact that it hasn't frozen yet.

Also our little "garden" is still in a very good shape.

Three months and two trips later

Sorry, dear readers and customers, but I have been a bit lazy in the last months: a matter of enjoying married life again and a nice summer. Nevertheless some things were happening here in Prayssac: the big wall in the living room was finished with sand paint, satellite tv was installed, they started the floor tiling on the first floor and a few days ago the hole for the swimming pool was digged.

We also did two trips: one to Belgium (end of August) to still move some things, visit family and friends and bring the cat with us.

The other one to Marrakech, a beautiful and interesting city with nice evening events.

June and July : two months of progress

The last six weeks a lot of progress has been made even so that we can live in our new house: the kitchen is ready, the bathroom is ready, the bedroom is ready, the private front wall is ready with a new technique called 'decopierre', the shutters are posed, the fireplace is ready and communication with the world is made possible (telephone and internet). And the garden starts producing delicious tomatoes. Summer is nice, my wife Griet lives here now too and the surroundings look gorgeous.

Productive week

The weekend and the week of May 2008, 26th have been very productive on the works, also
thanks to my wife Griet: we painted the kitchen, the storage room, I finished the private bathroom, we did the 'terrassement', the plumber came and even the electrician. Ready to install the kitchen next Monday.

Road

Today the town of Prayssac started the works on the rural road to our house. Limestone chippings (in French: castine) were put for sub base to stabilize the road.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Last weekend the first international malbec days took place in Cahors. All wines presented were based on malbec, the originary Cahors wine grape. Present were winemakers not only from Cahors, but also from Spain and Argentina. At this occasion the new Cahors wine glass was presented to the public, an immediate success.

garage finito iso and placo

Yesterday and today the isolation and the 'placoplâtres' were put.

In the meantime we got some 'lanterns' or 'mushrooms' on the roof and the garden is getting to life.
